NORTHSHORE CROSS COUNTRY 2024
Below is some important information for the 2024 Cross Country season including the website information for purchasing cross country uniforms (coming soon), information to join the team, and the Remind app where you will find all the team announcements (coming soon) and race information each week.
WHO
Boys and Girls in 3rd - 5th grades
COST
$50 registration fee (required) This covers all regular season meets, KYA fees, and end of the season celebration. Payment will be made to knoxschools.schoolcashonline.com. You should receive an email once your student is attached to the event. There will also be an additional cost for the uniform, which can be pre-ordered here: COMING SOON
PRACTICES
- First day of practice is TBA and will continue through TBA.
- Students should go to the gym after school and sit against the inside wall.
- Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:00.
- Students should bring a water bottles and wear running shoes.
- Practice will never be cancelled due to weather. If it is just raining, we will run. If there is thunder or lightening we will stay indoors.
- Parents must be at practice by 4:00. If you are later than 4:15 more than once, without making prior arrangements, your child may not be allowed to continue the program.
- Students should be picked up in the front of the building in the car rider line.

MEET INFO
- Race times will be announced due to different wave time starts. Please be there at least 30 minutes prior to race time to warm up and receive bib from the coach.
- I cannot stress enough how congested the meets can be. Expect traffic and plan accordingly.
- Elementary participants run 1 mile at meets. Bibs have timing chips and results will be available on the
knoxvilleyouthathletics.org website each evening after the race.

Regular season meets are every Monday at various locations around the area. The first meet is September 2nd, which is a Saturday. There are 4 regular season meets and they conclude with the Championship Meet on October 7. All of these meets are included in the regular season fee.

There will be a black tent set up at every meet with a “Northshore Elementary” sign.

For meets we will wear the Northshore Cross Country singlet.

Students must check out with me or another designated parent at the end of each meet to ensure they have found their guardian.

Each Sunday before the Monday races there is a group run. During these runs, students and families have the opportunity to run the course before the official race. Details can be found on the KYA website. (This is not mandatory).

PARENT INFO/TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS
We will be using the Remind app. Go to LINK COMING SOON and follow the instructions to sign up. You will be prompted to download the app. Remind app group name: Northshore XC 2024
XC PARENTS & CELEBRATION
- We will have a celebration in October, at the end of the season. More information will come soon.
Please become familiar with the Knoxville Youth Athletics page. There is a link under “meet volunteer sign up”. Any help at the races is greatly appreciated. We need a representative at every meet if possible. Sign-ups are at your convenience and are online.
